Who we are
Lady Margaret Lodge No. 4729 is a Craft lodge — the main and most familiar kind of Masonic lodge — working under the Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London.
What happens at a meeting
A meeting has two halves. First comes the formal part, where we carry out traditional ceremonies and deal with the Lodge’s business. Afterwards we sit down to dinner together, which is where much of the friendship of the Lodge is made.

What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest social and charitable organisations. Members meet in local groups called lodges and take part in ceremonies that use the tools of medieval stonemasons — the square, the level, the compasses — as a way of thinking about how to live well. Much of what lodges do is raising money for good causes and supporting one another.

Women in Freemasonry
Women can also be Freemasons. They do so through the Order of Women Freemasons and the Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons, separate organisations that work with the United Grand Lodge of England on friendly terms.
